Location: Salt Lick Safari Lodge ****  is a luxurious safari escape set in the heart of the Taita Hills Wildlife Sanctuary overlooking a waterhole and the vast Tsavo plains.

RoomsSalt Lick Safari Lodge has 96 unique rooms, all elevated on stilts and built across two levels, with ensuite bathrooms with permanent showers and WC, and running hot and cold water. We can accommodate you in these rooms at three levels with double, twin or triple beds depending on your preferred occupancy.

Salt Lick Safari Lodge’s spacious, well-appointed double rooms are all ensuite and give you a chance to enjoy breath-taking views of wildlife from the comfort of your room. To add to the charm and intimacy, the soft, fine linen, huge beds and thick white towels quietly whisper romance. 

Room amenities: All bedrooms have mosquito netting and a ceiling fan. In addition, each room is equipped with electric current: 220 volts, 50 cycles AC, shaver outlets 110/220 volts, 50 cycles AC. Salt Lick Safari Lodge offers luxurious accommodation and facilities and is the perfect place in an unforgettable setting to explore the surrounding natural environment.

Rooms have single and double beds, reading light, safe deposit, coffee & tea maker, hairdryer on request. 

Restaurant: Bura restaurant can host 150 people. Overlooking the waterholes. Breakfast, lunch and dinner buffets. Pan-African, Pan- Asian and Pan- European dishes. Bush breakfast, picnic hampers and African dinners in the open. Vuria Bar Lounge for your coctail or coffee! 

Activities: Early morning and late afternoon game drive around Salt Lick Safari Lodge provide an ideal opportunity to view and photograph the diverse array of wildlife within the Sanctuary. The waterholes below provide a wonderful opportunity to view animals at close proximity in their natural habitat. The lobby and terrace bar offers excellent views and photographic opportunities, while an underground tunnel and bunker with ground-level windows provide unbelievably close yet safe access to a variety of animals as they drink.

Night game drives provide guests with an opportunity of seeing animals not usually encountered on a daytime game drive such as spotted and striped hyena, mongoose, jackal, civet, genet, porcupine and bush baby. Salt Lick Safari Lodge have highly trained rangers equipped with powerful spotlights to take guests on this experience of a totally different world after dark, when you may have the thrilling opportunity to see a predator actively hunting.

Walking safari: make a nature walk with a qualified ranger guide, with emphasis on the natural environment you encounter as you stroll through the bush. 

A beautiful free form swimming pool is open all day at the sister property Taita Hills Safari Resort & Spa located nearby. There is also a curio shop at this resort.
