Naro Moru lodge

Location: Naro Moru River Lodge ***  spans over 70 acres and is located east of the Rift Valley. Mount Kenya is about 140 km north east of Nairobi just 2 hours from the capital, with its northern flanks spanning the equator. Naro Moru River Lodge is built on the banks of the snow-fed Naro Moru River that flows through the hotel grounds. The lodge was originally a farm that was acquired by Alliance Hotels in 1978.

Rooms: The lodge offers a range of accommodations, including 36 rooms, all along the riverbank with a clear view of Mt. Kenya, private bathroom and toilet, next to 5 holiday homes, 5 country houses, warehouses and a campsite. It also offers lodging facilities at Teleki Camp: Met & Mackinder stations located in Mt. Kenya National Park.

Restaurant: Dining options include Nelion-pool restaurant and Kirinyaga restaurant, which serve international dishes and traditional African dishes. The lodge has two bars: Lenana bar & Batian Bar which also serve coffee and fresh juices.

Facilities: Sports facilities include a swimming pool, tennis court, outdoor table tennis table, squash court, sauna, bird watching and nature trails, cycling and mountain safaris. In addition, there is an outdoor Naro Moru River Lodge Challenge course.

Activities: Naro Moru is also the base for climbing Mt. Kenya and employs a number of experienced guides and porters and a specialist equipment shop for renting specialist mountain equipment. Here you will find the routes for mountaineering.
